ALBA website

ALBA is the Spanish 3-GeV synchrotron radiation facility operated by the Consortium CELLS, which is equally funded by the Spanish Government (Ministerio de Economía y Competividad) and the Catalan Government (Generalitat de Catalunya, Departament d'Economia i Coneixement). ALBA has seven operating beamlines, two under construction and one more under design phase. Out of the seven operating beamlines, there is one, BL13-XALOC, dedicated to Macromolecular X-ray Crystallography (MX). A microfocus MX beamline is also under design phase and it is foreseen to undergo commissioning in 2020.

The beamlines are open to worldwide scientific community since 2012. Access is provided by peer-reviewed proposals (academic users), and on commercial basis (industrial users) by academic collaboration with the beamline scientific staff.
