Aichi Synchrotron Radiation Center
is located in Seto, Aichi Prefecture, Japan
Opened in 2012, the Aichi Synchrotron Radiation Center (AichiSR) is a regional joint-use facility jointly promoted by industry, academia, and government as a nano level advanced measurement and analysis facility that is indispensable for next-generation manufacturing technologies. The facility is operated mainly by Aichi Science & Technology Foundation, and is also supported by industry, universities, and Aichi Prefecture. From the planning stage the facility was designed for industry use of synchrotron radiation so that the results obtained from the facility would lead to create new industries and advance local industry.
In addition, the facility is located inside Knowledge Hub Aichi, which is established as a regional joint research facility, and was designed for mutual use of the sophisticated measurement and analysis devices in the adjacent Aichi Center for Industry and Science Technology to provide more powerful support to solve the problems in local industries. Now in 2016, new beamlines are being used for biological studies.
